What a property card actually is
The property card is the ownership record the City Survey office maintains for land inside city survey limits. It names the holder, states the area and the tenure, and notes any charge — a mortgage, a court attachment, a shared right — against the property. When a bank sanctions a home loan, when a buyer verifies a seller, when heirs divide a property, this is the document they rely on. It is the closest thing to a title record that a city property has.
