Registering a birth from many years ago (delayed registration) requires supporting evidence — a school leaving certificate showing the date, hospital or vaccination records where they survive, and a parent's affidavit. We tell you honestly at the start whether what you have is enough.

Fix spelling errors before they spread
Correcting a birth certificate before it spreads is cheaper than after. If the name or date is wrong, fix it before it is copied onto Aadhaar, school records and the passport — because then every one of those needs correcting too.
