Buying a used vehicle isn't done until the RC is transferred

Handing over cash and keys is the easy part. Until the registration certificate is transferred into your name at the RTO, the vehicle is legally still the seller's — which means their liability if it is in an accident, their challans, and their headache if you later try to sell. The transfer is a specific RTO process with its own forms, and it is worth completing straight after the purchase, not "sometime later".

Hypothecation removal — the step people forget

When a vehicle is bought on a loan, the RC shows the bank's name as the financier — this is the hypothecation. Once the loan is fully repaid, that entry does not disappear on its own. The bank issues a no-objection certificate, and that NOC has to be taken to the RTO to remove the hypothecation from the RC. Skip it, and years later a buyer of your vehicle finds a bank still listed as a lien-holder and the sale stalls. We handle the removal so your RC is clean.
